Environmental & Plant Biology faculty and students are committed to sharing their passion for science with the community—and especially with regional schoolchildren and high school students.

Greenhouse Group Tours
Arrangements for small group tours of the Ohio University Greenhouse can be made by emailing greenhouse manager Harold Blazier. Visitors also are invited to view the collection of plants in the garden, which is open year round. The Botanical Research building, greenhouse, and garden are all located on South Green adjacent to Morton Hall. The greenhouse facility is listed on the Ohio University Virtual Campus Tour.
Regional Science Day at OHIO
Ohio University partners with The Ohio Academy of Science (OAS) for the annual Regional Science Day at Ohio University. As a Carnegie R1 designated university focused on preparing students for a career in science, we share the academy’s passion for highlighting the accomplishments of Southeast Ohio’s budding scientists.
Student Organizations at Work in the Community
The Plant Club and the Plant Biology Graduate Student Association provide community outreach and are always seeking new opportunities to support conservation work and community engagement in schools, organizations, etc.
