Career & Graduate School Information for Undergraduates
Chemistry B.A.
Students with a B.A. in chemistry can go on to a wide range of higher education and career opportunities such as laboratory work, K-12 education (with additional credentialing), business, marketing, law, etc.
While students completing the requirements for the B.S. degree with a major in chemistry are eligible for professional status in the American Chemical Society, completion of a B.A. degree in chemistry does not qualify a student for certification.
Chemistry Major B.S.
A large number of graduates go on to take advanced degrees in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry. Graduates of the program are employed in environmental, pharmaceutical and other chemical companies throughout the country. Jobs held by recent graduates include applications lab technician, attorney, associate chemist, auditor, chemist, research and discovery chemist, chemistry and physics teacher, criminalist, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, drug analyst, environmental engineer, pharmacist, physician, QA process chemist, and technology transfer manager.
Upon completing the requirements for the B.S. degree with a major in chemistry, students are eligible for professional status in the American Chemical Society. Completion of a B.A. degree in chemistry does not qualify a student for certification.
Chemistry – Biochemistry B.S.
The biochemistry major serves students who have an interest in biological applications of chemistry as a biochemist or health scientist in medicine, industry, or research; as preparation for graduate studies in biochemistry or another life science, such as molecular biology, microbiology, or immunology; or as preparation for combining a career in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, etc., with research.
Students with a B.S. degree in biochemistry can go on to a wide variety of higher education and career opportunities such as research, industry or medicine.
Chemistry – Pre-Dentistry Major (B.S. or B.A.)
Students with a B.S. degree in chemistry?pre-dentistry typically go on to dental school. However, other higher education and career opportunities also exist depending upon the interest of the graduate.

Chemistry – Pre-Pharmacy B.S.
Students with a B.S. degree in chemistry can apply for admission to a Doctor of Pharmacy program as well as pursue other higher education and career opportunities.
Environmental Chemistry B.S.

Graduates of the programs are employed in environmental, pharmaceutical and other chemical companies throughout the country. Forensic Chemistry B.S.
A large number of our graduates go on to take advanced degrees in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry. In addition, some students go on to take advanced degrees in toxicology, forensic science or medicine.
Jobs held by recent graduates include applications lab technician, attorney, associate chemist, criminalist, drug analyst, document examiner, environmental engineer, forensic scientist, physician, and serologist/drug analyst.
