The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry’s funding priorities include capital and equipment support for the new Chemistry Building, and student scholarships. Below is a list of current funds you can support today with an online gift.

General Support

Chemistry and Biochemistry General Support Fund

  • Broad support for the department’s most pressing needs

Lawrence P. Eblin Memorial Fund

  • Provides resource materials to the Chemistry Department or undergraduate scholarship awards

Student Awards and Scholarships

Chemistry Alumni Advisory Board Scholarship

  • Established by the Chemistry Department’s Alumni Advisory Board, this scholarship supports graduate and undergraduate students within the department.

James & Harriet Tong Scholarship in Forensic Chemistry

  • Scholarship for undergraduate students on the Athens Campus majoring in Forensic Chemistry

Anthony R. J. Andrews Memorial Scholarship

  • Provides scholarships for full-time Athens campus students majoring in Forensic Chemistry

Bill Huntsman Organic Chemistry Student Award

  • Provides scholarships for full-time undergraduate students within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

Chemistry Scholarship

  • Scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry.

The William D. Huntsman Distinguished Professor Chemistry Student Scholarship

  • Provides scholarships for students in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

The Richard Couch Summer Internship in Chemistry

  • Supports a summer internship for a student conducting research in the department

Faculty Enhancements

Roenigk Chair in Chemistry

  • Endowed chair supporting professors or associate professors in the Chemistry Department

Marvin E. & Ann Dilley White Professorship in Chemistry 

  • Supports Chemistry faculty members by underwriting equipment and professional development costs

The Jesse Day Summer Research Fellowship

  • Provides scholarships to faculty members in their early years who do not have external sources of support. Candidates must spend most of their summer months actively engaged in research that could be used as a foundation for a grant application.
