Professional Experience

Stu earned his B.B.A. in Finance and Management, with honors, from Ohio University in 1989. While at Ohio University, Stu worked with the Small Business Development Center providing consulting and support to Athens area start-ups. Stu also was a member of the Marching 110, a student security aid, and a Corporate Leadership Fellow. Stu earned his MBA in 1996, summa cum laude, from Capital University in Columbus, OH.

After four years at Tremco in Cleveland, Stu moved to Columbus to join Crane Plastics (now known as Crane Group). Beginning as a product manager, Stu took an idea for TimberTech wood composite decking and railing from a blank sheet of paper to a leader in the industry. Most of his tenure at TimberTech was as President and CEO where he led the development and growth of the business until it reached $200 million in sales and was sold in 2012 for one of the highest multiples in the industry at the time. Stu then focused on leading TimberTech through the process of merging with a competitor and selling the combined business once again in 2013.

After leaving TimberTech/CPG in 2014, Stu is focusing on developing the Columbus market for multiple locations of the School of Rock music school franchise. Stu also provides business development consulting services to small and mid-sized businesses.

Stu is a recipient of the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Central OH. Stu also has been a featured speaker at industry conferences, The Entrepreneurship Institute and the Association for Corporate Growth. In addition to serving on the Ohio University School of Business Executive Advisory Board, Stu serves on the Board for Franklin County Residential Services which provides residential services for the developmentally disabled. As the father of a son with severe autism, he has a passion for advocacy and support for the developmentally disabled.

Stu resides with his wife and three children in Dublin OH. In addition to his family, his passions also include music and motorcycles.
