Law, Justice & Culture Early Assurance Program
Through the Law, Justice and Culture Early Assurance Program (EAP), incoming freshmen can earn early admission to the Ohio University Master of Arts in Law, Justice and Culture and can begin the program upon completing their undergraduate degree. Students in the LJC EAP will be able to start taking graduate courses while completing their bachelor’s degree.
About the Master of Arts in Law, Justice and Culture
The Master of Arts in Law, Justice and Culture is a rigorous and selective graduate program focusing on the challenges of law and justice in the 21st century. It is great preparation for careers in research and policy, public agencies, advocacy organizations, private companies, and nonprofits, as well as law school and Ph.D. programs.

Eligibility Criteria
- Be admitted to OHIO's Athens campus as a first-year student in one of the following majors:
- African-American studies
- Anthropology
- English
- Geography
- History
- Philosophy
- Political science
- Sociology
- Sociology-criminology
- Have the equivalent high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Have a record of strong academic engagement, for example (but not limited to): a challenging high school curriculum, leadership in extracurricular activities, sustained community engagement, or independent learning experiences
Application Process
For full consideration, students must complete the Law, Justice and Culture EAP application by Monday, January 19, 2026. The application includes a required essay. A list of extracurricular activities is encouraged. Selected students will be notified in March.

If you have not previously logged in or need to reset your password, select “Forgot Your Password?” on the login screen and follow the prompts.
