Director of Art Museum

Edward (Ed) E. Pauley has served as Director of Kennedy Museum of Art since February 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting at Marshall University in 1984 and his Masters in Fine Arts in painting at Ohio University in 1987. Since graduate school he has been in the museum profession and taught as an adjunct instructor on a continuous basis.

Previous positions include serving as President/CEO of Plains Art Museum in Fargo, N.D., Executive Director and Curator of the Cultural Center of Fine in Parkersburg, W. Va., Executive Director and Curator of the Black Mountain Center of Fine Arts in Black Mountain, N.C. and Director of Education at Huntington Museum of Art in Huntington, W. Va.

Pauley is currently a Board Member of the Ohio Museums Association and the Athens Area Citizens for the Arts. He is a member of Ohio University’s Percent for Art Committee. Past professional activities, among others, include serving as Vice President of the Mountain-Plains Museums Association, President of the Lake Agassiz Arts Council and President of Arts Advocacy, President of Arts Advocacy of West Virginia and Vice President of West Virginia Museums Association.
