Advising and Registration for Spring 2023 (ECT track in ITS, BC5383)

Remember that for register for classes you will need to schedule an advising session with your advisor. You can find the name of your advisor on your DARS.

Overview of ECT track in ITS undergraduate classes for
Spring 2023

Intro and Core courses:

ITS 2140 (Prof. Saunders)
Intro to ITS
None Meets at specific times: M,W,F
 

ECT 2210 (Prof. Linscott)

Intro to VR Production

None Meets at specific times: M,W,F also requires selecting a lab section.
     

All ECT track in ITS (BC5383) majors need to take the Intro and Core classes, follow the recommendations below to understand which classes you need to take in the Fall 2022 semester.

If you have taken ECT 1210, you need to take ECT 2210 in the Spring 2023 semester.

If you have not taken ITS 2140, you need to take it in the Spring 2023 semester.

Programming requirement:

If you have not completed the Programing Requirement as listed in your DARS, you should take a programming class listed in your DARS.

If your programming level is at a beginners level, we recommend you taking ITS 1801 Intro to Scripting. Please notice that ITS 1801 does not satisfy the programming requirement from your DARS, but will help you understand the foundations of scripting and coding.

If you want to take an ITS 4900 Topical Seminar but have not completed all the prereqs, please contact the instructor of the class. The instructor can evaluate your request and help you register if necessary.

** Students taking an ITS 4900 Topical Seminar must register for three (3) credit hours of the corresponding ITS 4900. Students can take different ITS 4900 Topical Seminars in the same or different semesters.

If a course indicates that you require a DARS exception to make it count as an elective class, ask your advisor for help filing this form for you.

Scripting class:

The scripting class ITS 1801 does not satisfy the computer programming requirement for ECT in ITS track majors. If you have little or no coding experience it is highly recommended you take this class before taking ITS 2801 in the spring.

A) Please use the form available on our website, also accessible through this link. Ask your advisor for instructions on how to fill out the form and email it to your advisor. Your advisor will forward the form to the school director for processing.


Q) How do I add the Business minor to my DARS?
A) Please fill out the online form available from the Scripps College Dean's office, also available through this link.
