The Academic & Research Center opened in January 2010 to promote biomedical research and the development of new diagnostic methods and therapies, primarily in the areas of diabetes and cancer. The ARC boasts 89,000 square feet of space covering three floors that include 13 classrooms, 22 biomedical research labs. The ARC is home to 10 MCB Faculty Researchers.
The ARC hosts and enhances multidisciplinary research collaboration between the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Russ College of Engineering and Technology. The facility is designed to foster collaboration through state-of-the-art integrated laboratories, classroom and other education spaces, and a variety of formal and informal meeting spaces. The education spaces were built with a learning-centered philosophy in mind, encouraging both individual exploration and collaborative learning.
