Shively Hall was built in 1956 and completely renovated in 2009. Named in honor of Earl Branston Shively, a native of Vinton County and 1921 graduate of Ohio University.

All residence halls are provided with daily housekeeping for all public areas and 24-hour maintenance services.
This building has a laundry room that accepts Bobcat Cash. This facility is only available to students residing in this building. The East Green laundry center is located under Gamertsfelder Hall.
