April 2026 Lunch Lecture: From Dissertation to Publication
“From Dissertation to Publication: Strategies for Early Career Scholars” is a virtual Lunch Lecture led by Dr. Keira Hambrick. This session focuses on helping graduate students and early career scholars transform dissertation research into publishable journal articles. Participants will gain practical strategies, examples, and next steps for moving from dissertation chapters to academic publications.
March 2026 Lunch Lecture: Rewrite Your Thinking
“Rewrite Your Thinking: Tips and Tricks to Manage the Writing Process” was a virtual Lunch Lecture led by Kevin A. Calhoun. This session explored writing as a form of thinking and provided practical strategies for navigating long-form academic work. Topics included managing the emotional challenges of writing, overcoming writer’s block through structured approaches, and responsibly using generative AI tools to support research.
Zotero Workshop: Organizing Research & Citations
Before the semester break in Fall 2025, DWSP hosted a hybrid Zotero workshop with strong participation both in Alden Library and on Microsoft Teams. The session introduced practical strategies for organizing research materials and managing citations effectively. The strong turnout highlighted the value of shared, skill-based learning spaces, and DWSP looks forward to offering more workshops like this alongside regular writing groups.
