Overview

Spend two transformational weeks in Ghent—one of Europe’s leading hubs for multinational companies, start-ups, and business innovation—while earning academic credit through an immersive, sales-focused consulting experience.

Hosted at the prestigious Vlerick Business School, this program connects you directly with global corporate partners, local Belgian firms, and Vlerick student collaborators. You won’t just learn about international business—you’ll do it.

  • Academics: This program requires students to complete a 3-credit hour course in Spring 2027, and a 1-credit hour course in Summer 2027.

Living Arrangements

Students will be housed in shared hotel rooms (2-3 students per room) throughout the program.

Program Dates

May 8, 2027 - May 22, 2027

*Students will need to depart the US one day prior to the start date in order to arrive in Belgium for the program.

Academics 

This program requires students to complete the following 3-credit hour course in Spring 2027, and a 1-credit hour course in Summer 2026.

    • 3-credit: MKT 2900: Special Topics in Marketing: Sales Int'l Consulting PracS26
  • Summer 2027:
    • 1-credit: MKT 4910: Sales Internship

Cost 

The following information is intended to help participants understand the estimated costs associated with the program.  For additional information regarding program costs, please refer to Understanding Program Costs for Ohio-Credit Programs.

As of August 27, 2026, the total estimated cost for SUMMER 2027:

  • Undergraduate: $5,675 + 3 Credits of Spring Athens-Campus Tuition/Fees + 1 Credit of Summer Athens-Campus Tuition/Fees

Tuition rates are based on participant's Tuition Guarantee or Graduate Program of Study (refer to Bursars for more information).

These credit hours are part of the spring semester course load. Participants will not incur additional tuition costs for the spring semester if they are taking 12-20 (Undergraduate) or 9-18 (Graduate) credits including the credit hours mentioned. Students taking less or more than a full course load will see their tuition adjusted accordingly.

*Non-resident surcharge is subsidized for the SUMMER credit hours associated with this program.

Program Fee: Student accommodations, some meals (welcome & farewell dinner, breakfasts), excursions and activities, and transportation to all program-related activities.$3,100

Non-program-related entertainment, souvenirs, and additional travel are not included in the cost estimate and should be budgeted separately.

Eligibility

This program is open to all OHIO undergraduate majors with a GPA of 2.5 or above that is currently a member of the Schey Sales Centre.

Students who will be on probation at any point during the program for a conduct offense that took place less than a calendar year from the program start date may not study abroad. Read the entire conduct policy. 

This program does not accept NON-OHIO students. For more information about this process visit the Non-OHIO student page.  

Participants must have a at least a high school diploma or the equivalent (e.g. GED) by the start date of the program to be considered for eligibility.  Students enrolled in College Credit Plus (CC+) are not eligible for study away programs.

Application Requirements

This program requires applicants to submit:

  • DARS
  • A copy of resume/cv

Additionally, a meeting with the directors is required.

Entry and Exit Requirements 

U.S. citizens are required to have a valid U.S. passport book when traveling outside of the United States. If you plan to study or travel abroad in the next year,  apply for your passport  now.
