Nicole Baker

Hi, I’m Nicole Baker, an Interior Architecture and Design student at Ohio University. I am currently completing my senior year and will graduate in Fall 2026 as I begin transitioning into the professional design field.

My interest in design comes from my own experiences and how the built environment has affected my mood, productivity, and overall well-being. While working as a fitness coach and bodybuilder, I began to notice how much the space around me influenced not only how I felt, but also how I performed and connected with others. This realization led me to pursue a career in interior architecture, where I can create spaces that support both physical and mental well-being.

I am most interested in designing spaces that enhance everyday experiences and support wellbeing. I believe that design has a strong impact on how people feel, both mentally and physically, and I strive to create environments that are welcoming, comfortable, and supportive. I am especially drawn to natural materials, biophilic design strategies, and spaces that encourage connection.

As I move into the next stage of my career, I am looking to gain experience in a professional design firm where I can continue to learn and grow. I am especially interested in commercial, healthcare, and community-centered design, and I hope to work on projects that create positive, supportive environments and improve people’s everyday experiences.
