Katie Abrahall
Kaitlyn "Katie" Abrahall originally planned to build a career studying the human body. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Oneonta, she realized she was far more fascinated by how people function within the built environment than by what happens at the cellular level. This shift in perspective led her to pursue interior architecture, where she found a stronger connection to both her creative and analytical interests.
Now a graduate of interior architecture and design, Katie is from Long Island, New York, and is particularly interested in how thoughtfully designed environments can support well-being, healing, and community. She is drawn to the balance between beauty and functionality, creating spaces that feel intuitive, purposeful, and impactful to those who experience them.
Her academic work has explored large-scale public environments such as art galleries, libraries, and rehabilitation centers-spaces where design can encourage connection, engagement, and healing. In addition to her studies, Katie has gained professional experience working at Arhaus, where she has developed strong skills in space planning, finish selection, and creating cohesive interior environments. Her role has also strengthened her ability to present ideas clearly and communicate effectively with clients.
As her career continues to grow, Katie is especially drawn to the personalization and creativity found in residential design, while also looking forward to exploring commercial design in the future. She aims to create meaningful environments that positively impact everyday life, designing spaces that not only function well but also support the people who use them.
