Courtney Henry
Courtney Henry is a graduate of Ohio University’s Interior Architecture program, based in O‘ahu, Hawai‘i. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts while working full-time in the hospitality industry. Her experience living and working in Hawai‘i has shaped her appreciation for natural beauty, cultural connection, and the influence of the built environment on everyday life.
She pursued interior architecture through her combined interest in creativity and human behavior. She is especially drawn to the relationship between design and mental well-being, and how thoughtfully designed spaces can influence mood, connection, and overall quality of life. Her work reflects a focus on creating environments that feel intentional, calming, and supportive.
Throughout her studies, Courtney developed strong technical and conceptual skills, with a focus on space planning and digital modeling using Revit. Her academic work includes a range of projects, culminating in her thesis, Kindred Spaces, a wellness-centered environment designed to support community, movement, and reflection. Her work emphasizes a balance between research-based design and human-centered intention.
Following graduation, Courtney hopes to build a career centered around designing spaces that genuinely support how people feel, connect, and function in their daily lives. She is especially interested in work that prioritizes well-being and human experience and plans to continue exploring the relationship between design and psychology.
