Meredith’s thesis reimagines the foster care system through a trauma-informed residential facility designed to promote safety, stability, and growth. Using organic wayfinding, thoughtful color application, and home-like interiors, the space supports emotional regulation and overall well-being while providing resources to help foster youth transition toward success. She chose this topic to demonstrate how intentional, research-driven design can help children who have experienced instability feel secure, grounded, and supported. A key takeaway from her work is that cohesive flow and spatial consistency serve as powerful tools in creating safe, welcoming environments that enhance quality of life. Her design interests focus on luxury commercial and residential spaces rooted in human-centered, evidence-based design.
