The Landing: A Youth Resource Center

Maya's thesis project centered around using her dad's office building and creating a resource center for underprivileged youth in the Akron area. This project aims at bettering Akron youth, so they step into adulthood prepared with the tools, confidence, and resources necessary to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. By providing access to mentorship programs, career exploration opportunities, academic support, mental health resources, and safe social spaces, The Landing seeks to bridge gaps in opportunity and create a stable foundation during critical developmental years. The center is designed not only as a place for immediate support, but as an environment that fosters independence, resilience, and long-term growth, empowering young individuals to envision and pursue a future filled with possibility.
