Lillien Heywood

Hometown: Rocky River, Ohio
Expected Graduation Date: Spring 2024
Lillien is a junior mechanical engineering student from Rocky River, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland that borders Lake Erie. She became interested in engineering and hands on learning after taking a high school class in where she learned to disassemble and rebuild motorcycles. She knew Ohio University was her home when she started taking classes and got to experience the collaborative atmosphere of the engineering college.
Outside of Engineering Ambassadors, Lillien is a member of the OHIO University Cheerleading Team and can be seen on the sidelines at every home football and basketball game. She is also the current president of Pi Tau Sigma, the Mechanical Engineering Honor Society. Both co-curriculars have helped Lillien grow as a person and provided her with amazing opportunities.
Over the summer, Lillien interned with Feedall Automation in Willoughby, Ohio. She became an in-house expert on the ‘holy grail’ of robotic random bin picking. Her projects included setting up a demo cell for future customers, designing robotic end of arm tooling, and assisting the sales team with quote preparations.
In her free time Lillien enjoys hanging with friends and making handmade friendship bracelets.
