Spring Quarter 2010-11 Calendar

 
Regional campus students should refer also to the section of the Schedule of Classes pertaining to their campus: Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern, Zanesville.

Deadlines are 5:00 p.m. EST on the date indicated (unless otherwise noted). However, online transactions may be processed beyond 5:00 p.m. EST if the online application is available.

By registering for classes, a student incurs a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees. This debt may be canceled only if the student officially cancels his/her registration BEFORE Monday, March 28, 2011.

, FEBRUARY 1
Academic advising begins for spring quarter registration for continuing students (contact advisor/college/department/school/regional campus student services office as appropriate)

DARS reports available for students enrolled winter quarter

Note: A DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) report is issued to students each quarter prior to priority registration. See General Information: Registration Material Locations for method of distribution and location.


TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8
Spring quarter priority registration begins


TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28

Web Registration available for spring quarter priority registration (see Registration Schedule). This is priority registration based on class rank. See your DARS report for your starting time and Registration Access Code (RAC).

Note: Each student's RAC (Registration Access Code) is printed on his/her DARS report for priority registration. Continuing students can obtain registration material at the locations listed under General Information: Registration Material Locations or at their regional campus student services offices. Re-enrolling students are mailed registration information upon receipt of their request to re-enroll.

Fee Information: Student eBills will be generated Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Fees must be paid on or before Thursday, March 17, 2011. See General Information: Fee Assessment Payment/Deadline-Bills for information on making payments.

Upon completion of registration, student class schedules are available by accessing the Office of the University Registrar Web site, www.ohio.edu/registrar, and selecting MySchedule under Online Services. See General Information: Schedules, Student for more information on requesting your schedule via the Web.


MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28
In-person registration available (for those not wanting to use Web Registration to register)

Fee Information:

Web Registration available for spring quarter drops and adds (see Registration Schedule)

TUESDAY, MARCH 1
Last day to withdraw from housing to avoid forfeiture of spring quarter deposit of $200


THURSDAY, MARCH 17
Last day to pay fees for spring quarter to avoid late payment charge

Reminder:
Fees must be paid by the due date. Students who have not paid their fees will not be canceled but will be charged a $100 late payment charge. If you do not plan to attend winter quarter, you must cancel all of your classes by accessing the Office of the University Registrar Web site, www.ohio.edu/registrar, and selecting Register for Classes under Online Services or by calling the Office of the University Registrar, (740) 593-4495, BEFORE Monday, March 28, 2011, the first day of classes.

Fee Information:
Students incurring charges will receive an eBill with payment due upon receipt.

Note: Cancellation of registration is defined as dropping all classes before the first day of classes (use Web Registration).

Spring quarter opening date

Spring quarter classes begin - Athens and regional campuses

Spring quarter monthly payment plan installment #1 due


SATURDAY, APRIL 2

Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 75% housing refund

Spring quarter class schedules sent to University e-mail accounts for registered students


MONDAY, APRIL 4
Last day to add a spring quarter class without instructor's approval


SATURDAY, APRIL 9

Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 50% housing refund


MONDAY, APRIL 11
Last day to register for spring quarter

Note: Students who are in attendance by this date but fail to complete any registration procedures must pay a penalty for retroactive registration correction according to the following schedule:

April 12 - 18 $ 40
April 19 - 25 $ 60
April 26 - May 2 $ 80
May 3 - 9 $100

Last day to add a spring quarter class (instructor's permission required)

Last day to remove a spring quarter class from student's academic record with possible fee adjustment (use Web Registration); spring quarter classes dropped April 12 - May 2 will remain on student's academic record with WP/WF grade with no fee adjustment

Last day to receive partial fee adjustment (80%) of registration fees for complete withdrawal from the University for spring quarter (all spring quarter courses removed from the student's academic record)

Last day to apply for pass/fail grading option for spring quarter class (apply at your college student services office or regional campus student services office)

Last day to change a grading option for spring quarter class (credit to audit, audit to credit, pass/fail to regular grade option, or regular grade option to pass/fail)

Last day to change college/major for spring quarter (contact your college student services office or regional campus student services office)

Spring quarter class schedules sent to University e-mail accounts of registered students


TUESDAY, APRIL 12
Spring quarter classes dropped will not remove fees for hours dropped; corrected registration that results in increased hours could increase tuition

Spring quarter classes dropped from this date through May 2 (last day to drop a class) will remain on student's academic record with WP/WF grade with no fee adjustment

SATURDAY, APRIL 16
Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 25% housing refund


MONDAY, APRIL 18
Deadline to waive spring quarter Health Insurance fee

Deadline to waive spring quarter Student Legal Service fee

Deadline to waive spring quarter WellBeing fee


TUESDAY, APRIL 19
Last day to apply for graduation for spring quarter

Note: Official graduation (degree conferral date) is June 4 (medical), 10 (graduate), 11 (undergraduate). Commencement is held at the conclusion of spring quarter.

Holidays that result in closing of the University are listed above. Other religious holidays that occur during this quarter but for which the University is not closed are: April 18 at sundown - Passover Seder; April 22 - Good Friday; April 24 - Easter.
