The Center for International Studies (CIS) is the Global Education Gateway of Ohio
University - an independent academic unit internationalizing the OHIO learning
and living community and infusing global education into curricula on campus and
abroad. High quality, globally-focused degrees and programs are at the core of
our mission, serving as a catalyst for interdisciplinary and experiential
engagement among faculty and students across the institution. CIS administers
OHIO global partnerships, promotes on-campus, community and international
outreach, houses the Office of Education Abroad and Global Leadership Center
and supports the teaching of traditional and less commonly taught languages.
Established in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio and the first in the Northwest Territory. Admission to Ohio University is granted to the best-qualified applicants as determined by a selective admission policy.
