Spring 2020 Convocation FAQ

Is there a Convocation Rehearsal for graduates?

Yes, rehearsal will be on POSTPONED. in the Campus Center “short” hallway (back parking lot area).

It is not required that you attend but it is highly recommended.


When is the 2020 Spring Convocation?

The ceremony will take place on (Postponed)


Where will the 2020 Spring Convocation be held?

The ceremony will be held at Littick Hall on the Zanesville campus -- 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville.


Is there a limit to the number of guests I can bring?

No. However we do ask that you RSVP with the number of individuals planning to attend for planning purposes. Please let us know in the comments sections if you have anyone needing ADA/handicap seating so we may plan properly.


Where will parking be for the 2020 Spring Convocation?

The best place to park for the reception is the East parking lot by Elson Hall. There is also handicap accessible parking available just outside of Littick Hall.

Will there be a reception for students and guests?

Yes. We will be hosting the reception PRIOR to the Convocation ceremony this year. It will be in The Campus Center from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.


Will there be photos taken during the ceremony?

Yes, we will have a photographer taking photos during the ceremony that will be posted to our Facebook page. We invite you to bring your camera for informal photos, there will be several areas for photos to be taken. 


Where do I pick up my cap & gown, or individual items I ordered?

Items ordered can be picked up on Monday, April 27 AFTER 10 a.m. in Student Services. Yes, someone can pick up for you if you have notified Michelle Pendergast for arrangements. If you are not sure if you ordered items, please contact Michelle Pendergast for assistance.


If I already have a cap and gown, how do I get a tassel for my major? 

You can purchase an individual piece (tassel) through, https://commerce.cashnet.com/ohiocapgown, and click on "Student Individual Pieces." Or, if you find that you need to order the whole package (cap, gown and tassel) you may do so by clicking on "Student Full Packages."  Deadline for orders is April 12, 2020. 


Can I attend the Commencement Ceremony in Athens on May 2, 2020? POSTPONED

Yes, if you indicated that you will be attending when you applied for graduation. For questions regarding the commencement ceremony visit the Ohio University Commencement page.
