You’re invited to join the Ohio University School of Dance faculty and current students for Dance Studio Day on Saturday, November 5. The event features a full day of fun and educational dance activities designed to help you progress in the discipline. Dance Studio Day is open to high school dancers of all levels.
During Dance Studio Day students will have the opportunity to partake in master classes with our faculty experts, and to learn more about the exciting academic and experiential opportunities available in the School of Dance and the College of Fine Arts.
Dance Studio Day is a wonderful opportunity for talented artists like you to receive one-on-one feedback from faculty, and to refine your skills as an artist.
There is no fee to attend.
Current high school seniors may choose to use this experience as an audition!
Event Schedule:
9:30 to 10 a.m.
Check-in & Morning Yoga
10 to 11 a.m.
African Dance with Zelma Badu-Younge (Director, School of Dance) with live accompaniment from Yaa Opokua Agyemfra.
11 to 11:30 a.m.
Viewing Dance & the Choreographic Process with Christi Camper Moore.
11:30 to 12:45 p.m.
Ballet with student Mae Wasaff
Faculty Panel: The University Dance Program & Audition Process
12:45 to 1:15 p.m.
Lunch & Learn: Student Panel - Life at OHIO with College of Fine Arts Student Ambassadors
1:15 to 2:30 p.m.
Modern with student Abby Bowman (audition option for high school seniors)
Parent/Guest Tour: School of Dance Facility Tours & Admissions Presentation
2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Jazz with Travis Gatling
3:30 to 4 p.m.
Informal Showing & Closing Remarks

Written by OHIO’s own Eryn Elyse McVay, and Directed by Molly H. Donahue (School of Theater), "what the Gods gave me" is a story about the magic of the family and the power of the individual.
