Brand new medical education facility focuses on students
Heritage Hall is a custom-built training facility for OHIO's medical students. The building was designed to emphasize collaborative learning styles, environmental sustainability and personal wellness for students, faculty and staff.

New research building under renovation
The Russ College of Engineering and Technology is currently renovating the West Union Street Office Center. The space is set to open in 2023 and will enable increased research and collaboration for engineering students.

OHIO chosen to coordinate new statewide center for behavioral health prevention and promotion
A new statewide center of excellence will focus on building infrastructure and capacity to address Ohioans’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health. Efforts will focus on mental health promotion and early intervention to prevent substance abuse or dependency while emphasizing cultural competency and accessibility.

OHIO's Voinovich School brings STEM education to the region's K-12 students
The region’s K-12 students now have access to a variety of online STEM educational activities thanks to Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, which recently launched the Appalachian STEM Enrichment Academy, a web-based platform that brings together a mix of STEM topics and activities into a central online location.
Strengthening our Footprint in Health Professions
We have seen a distinctive shift in enrollment trends at OHIO over the past decade. The Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is the largest provider of primary care doctors in the state, and as one of the largest purveyors of baccalaureate-trained nurses in the state, we are moving our communities forward with access to critical health care needs from investments in diabetes research to much needed care in addressing the opioid epidemic.
