Brandon Mahr
Ambassador 2016-2018

Hometown: Rutland, Ohio

Expected Graduation: Spring 2018

Born and raised on a small farm in southeastern Ohio, Brandon always longed to attend Ohio University. With an interest in how things are made and a desire to lead his own company, Brandon found a program at the Russ College that fit perfectly his goals. Confident in his decision, Brandon has been able to follow his dreams and is well on his way to reaching his goals, thanks in large part to what he calls his perfect fit at OHIO.

Along with being an Engineering Ambassador, Brandon is active in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and is the President of Epsilon Pi Tau. He’s honored to be a Jewell Manasseh Cutler Scholar, which has provided him the opportunity to travel abroad multiple times. On one trip, he built school classrooms in Fiji’s impoverished areas, and on another he studied abroad in Sorrento, Italy, where he learned how to integrate sustainability with business.

Brandon has had multiple internships in the manufacturing industry; he interned at Electrocraft, Inc. over a summer and took a fall semester off from classes to work with Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Brandon hopes to continue to learn more about the manufacturing industry as he progresses towards graduation.

Outside of class, Brandon enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and playing basketball.
