Advancing Hydraulic Engineering through Innovation and Resilient Design

 
 

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University, in cooperation with The Ohio Department of Transportation, is proud to host the 2018 National Hydraulic Engineering Conference (NHEC), Tues.-Fri., August 28-31, at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio. Themed “Advancing Hydraulic Engineering through Innovation and Resilient Design,” the ninth biennial conference will address the challenges that transportation agencies face to construct, maintain, sustain, and improve hydraulic structures in the physical, natural, social, and economic environments of today and tomorrow.

Presentation topics will include stream stability, water quality, stormwater management, climate change, scour, modeling, and related areas. The conference will also feature demonstrations, field trips, and short courses for surface transportation officials, including hydraulic engineers, environmental engineers, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) specialists, roadway designers, and other professionals.
