IISE Great Lakes Regional Conference 2017

Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) were proud to host the 2017 IISE Great Lakes Regional Conference in Athens, Ohio, from February 24-26, 2017. Hundreds of students and professionals gathered from around the region to find the “IE” in relief.

During this two-day conference, attendees learned how you to create for good by using your specialized process improvement skills to benefit our world. Speakers, tours, and student competitions will demonstrate nonprofit applications of industrial engineering methodology. Attendees had the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions focused on the logistics of disaster relief, food bank warehousing and distribution challenges, how to use their IE skills to volunteer with nonprofits, and more.

The event included a variety of guest speakers, a formal networking and awards banquet, a technical paper competition, and an industrial engineering-specific career fair.
