The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education’s department of defense is seeking a mechanical engineering intern at Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio.

The unit conducts research on environmental health effects and aerospace medicine, addressing health and performance challenges faced by service members in operational military environments.

You’ll participate in and collaborate with our engineering and technical support services team on disorientation research device (DRD) sub-system analysis, system state monitoring application development, life-cycle management tracking, research planning, and product improvement design.

You should be an undergraduate mechanical engineering student with a minimum 3.0 GPA; be familiar with SolidWorks; and have knowledge of mechanical design and analysis, strength of materials and thermodynamics.
