Bobcat Brew Trail

Bobcat Brew Trail

  • A student-designed solution for checking in on the Trail

A special shout out goes to Computer Science students Kaleb Demaline, Kara Nemet, Jansen Craft, and Noah Fox, who developed the Bobcat Brew Trail web app as part of their senior capstone project. The app officially launched on July 1, 2025, making it easier than ever for alumni to explore, support, and connect through this unique Bobcat initiative.

Thank you to Andosoa Finaritra Kalina Rabe Harinoro, William Meyer, Kylie Roenigk, and Drew Tumblin for their work on updating the Bobcat Brew Trail web app for the 2026-2027 season. Their work as a student software engineering cohort provided essential tools that keep the trail running smoothly.

Traversing the Trail

Are you ready to start your brewery journey?  Through the Bobcat Brew Trail, we invite you to visit the breweries of Ohio University alumni across the state. While you travel the trail, not only will you enjoy delicious brews, or the drink of your choice, you’ll connect with fellow OHIO alumni, explore new towns, come back for an old favorite or discover a hidden gem, all while supporting your fellow Bobcats!

Trail Etiquette

So, how does the brew trail work? Each time you visit a participating Bobcat brewery, check-in at that location by scanning the QR code displayed on the “Trail Blaze” sign in the brewery. Complete the full form, including the photo proof of your visit. Your photo proof can be a selfie, an artsy picture of your brew, or a photo of the brewery menu, whatever proves that you were there.

Only one visit to each brewery/location will be counted in your check-in count. If a brewery has multiple locations, each location can count as a check-in.

Two people working on brewing.

For some, the trail starts with a Craft Brewing Certificate at OHIO. There are two brewing certificate pathways: one for those interested in the science of brewing and one for those interested in the entrepreneurial aspects of running a business.
