  • Head basketball coach at Wittenberg University (1976-1989) and Western Carolina University (2005-2018)
  • Under his leadership, Bobcats secured a NCAA Tournament appearance (1994), an NIT appearance (1995) and won the pre-season NIT (1994)
  • Named MAC Coach of the Year in 1994
  • Named NABC Division III Coach of the Year in 1977 after Wittenberg University won the NCAA National Championship, making him the first coach in NCAA history to secure that title in the first season at a school
  • Ranked second on the all-time win list at Ohio University, Wittenberg College and Western Carolina University
  • One of only 40 NCAA men’s basketball coaches to eclipse the 700 career-win milestone
  • Inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016
