You will study the operations, management, and regulation of communication technologies, including the Internet, telephone systems, local and wide-area networks, wireless and satellite systems, and video conferencing. You will also learn how these technologies are applied to accomplish strategic business goals, such as improving business-to-business transactions. The McClure School's curriculum is continually updated to keep up with new communication and information technology. You can count on individual attention and advising as you progress.
In addition to the information technology, policy, and management courses offered by the McClure School, you will also establish a strong foundation in business administration through required courses offered by the College of Business and other Ohio University departments. Courses in accounting, economics, marketing, management, statistics, computer science, and interpersonal communications add breadth to your knowledge. You will also complete an area of concentration in a complementary field that matches your interests. For example, a recent graduate completed an area of concentration in French and upon graduation began working in Procter & Gamble's Global Communications division as a Systems Analyst. A degree from the McClure School will prepare you to meet the challenges of the dynamic information technology field.
"The exposure to all aspects of communications technology I received from Ohio University's School of Communication Systems Management (now ITS) has given me the tools to manage the complexities of this constantly evolving industry without having to rely on countless texts and other resources. 'Speed and efficiency' is the name of the game - if I already know the answer, I don't need to waste time researching a solution. Thanks, again, OU!"
