Everyone agrees that ITS Day 2012, on Thursday, May 10, was a huge success. Starting with speaker Damon Cockrel from Sprint, followed by David George, Frontier Communications, the Alumni/Internship Panel, the keynote address in Baker Ballroom by Charles Stuckey, and ITS alum Jed Bistline '02 with Cardinal Health, students appreciated and benefitted from the panels and presenters.

ITS alum Juan Echeverry '05 announced the winners of the graduate and undergraduate Accenture Challenge. ITS alumni working at Accenture, a technology consulting firm, created the challenge in 2008. The challenge gives students the chance to solve real-world problems using the skills they’ve learned in their studies at Ohio University.

Also recognized at the banquet was the retirement of Professor Phyllis Bernt. She and her husband Joe, a Professor in Journalism, are both retiring at the end of spring quarter and moving to Oregon. Students will continue to benefit from their years of experience, however, as they teach online classes for their respective academic unit in the future.
