The McClure School hosted ITS Day 2007 on Thursday, May 10, where educators, industry professionals, and alumni came to the Ohio University campus to participate in panels, lead group discussions, and explain the latest developments in the industry to students, professors, and to one another. Organized by students with the assistance of faculty chairs, Andy Snow and Philip Campbell, ITS Day provides students in Information and Telecommunication Systems current information about new and expanding areas in telecommunications and an opportunity for students to meet industry leaders from all over the world.
The alumni panelists Matt Christian '99, Nationwide Insurance; Zach Eyen '06, the Paragon Group; Wrienne Mitchell '05, MCPc; Neil Okonak '02, Accenture; and Adam Tiffany '03, Kroger; spoke about their experiences after graduation.
Mike McCurry, Former White House Press Secretary, gave the key note speech "The Case Against Net Neutrality: A Dissent from the Left" to an engaged audience. A security panel followed with Tom Fisher '98, Interactive Intelligence; Matt Raider '03, Accenture; and Shawn Ostermann, Ohio University. The final panel of the day, on "VOIP Security: Hype vs. Reality," included Tom Fisher '98, Interactive Intelligence Systems, and Ian Carlson '95, Tympani Inc. The Awards Banquet, which acknowledged students for their hard work and achievements, ended the day.
