Tom and Judi Lonsbury
Dear friends,
For the first time since the inception of the Thomas Lonsbury Scholarship Golf Classic, our event will be chaired by someone other than our friend, mentor and leader Thomas Lonsbury.
It is with heavy heart that I share with you that Tom passed away on April 23rd, 2012, after a sudden and brief illness. We are all extremely saddened by the loss of Tom and his relentless passion for helping young Information & Telecommunication Systems (ITS) students with their educational priorities.
As a representative of the ITS Alumni Board, we are focused on continuing and growing Tom’s work in honor of his dedication, work and memory. With this in mind, I am honored to Chair the 2012 J. Warren McClure School Advisory Board Thomas Lonsbury Scholarship Golf Classic.
What an amazing ten years it has been! So many of you have been with us since day one and we are thankful for your generous support. We really have something special and we need to keep this legacy growing! More than ever, we are asking for your support and assistance. Whether you are a past golfer, or a new potential sponsor or golfer, your participation will help provide support to a deserving ITS student.
The 11th Annual J. Warren McClure School Advisory Board Thomas Lonsbury Scholarship Golf Classic is Thursday, September 27, 2012. It will be held at the Ohio University Golf Course and the Ohio University Inn.
Proceeds from the J. Warren McClure School Advisory Board Thomas Lonsbury Scholarship Golf Classic benefit students of Ohio University’s McClure School of Information & Telecommunication Systems. In the first ten years, we presented 9 scholarships and more importantly raised our Scholarship Fund from the required $15,000 (required amount to be endowed to over $150,000. Our success is the students’ success, and we can’t do it without you.
The bottom line is we need participants, and most of all sponsors for direct donations, give-a-way gifts, raffle prizes, etc.
