Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service develops leaders and partners with communities, agencies and businesses to improve the quality of life for Ohioans, forever.

 At OHIO’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, our work is guided by a common purpose: to strengthen communities and improve lives for Ohioans. We do that not only through teaching and research but also as a partner to businesses, agencies and non-profits – bringing expertise, energy and ideas to initiatives that drive economic prosperity and community vitality.

Our world class degree programs educate students who aspire to lead communities and improve policies. Our work on community initiatives provides business and community leaders with the tools they need to advance economic development, improve infrastructure, address environmental challenges, and uplift the health and wellbeing of Ohioans in every part of the state.

An Interdisciplinary Educational Approach

The interdisciplinary nature of the Voinovich School’s educational approach allows us to provide students with unique learning experiences, exposing them to multiple disciplines and cross collaboration, and allowing them to work with real clients and organizations. Leveraging the expertise of engaged faculty members and professional staff, while working with students, allows them to apply their knowledge on some of the toughest challenges facing the world today.

Like the late Senator George V. Voinovich, whose 46 years of public service included terms as mayor of Cleveland, governor of Ohio and U.S. senator, the School that takes his name recognizes that solutions to the world’s challenges will be found only by reaching across boundaries, some artificial and some real.
