How to Apply
The Division of Student Affairs prioritizes students from the College Student Personnel master's program for these graduate assistant positions. The application process and the admissions process are separate but concurrent processes.
Application Process: Assistantships
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 1, 2023
- Identify positions of interest. Candidates may apply for up to seven assistantships.
- Position openings are listed here. Each opening as a corresponding link to a PDF that details the position. Within each PDF is the application link.
- The application link will take you to the job posting on the Human Resources website.
- If you choose to apply, you will be directed to create a user account on the Human Resources website.
- Provide application documents:
- Cover letter highlighting relevant skills and competencies. Candidates are asked to write individual cover letters for each application.
- Current résumé
- Personal statement of interest (2–3 pages)
- Candidates applying for the College Student Personnel program are encouraged to use the same personal statement from their program application.
- Professional references
- Professional references are not letters of recommendation. A list of names and contact information is sufficient for those that can speak to your character and success in a previous position. Former supervisors, colleagues, employers, teachers, or others with first-hand knowledge of your abilities are acceptable.
Application Process: College Student Personnel Master's Program
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE December 15, 2022
- Complete the Graduate Admissions Application and pay an application fee of $50
- Submit transcripts for bachelor’s degree work (one official copy)
- Write a personal statement of interest (2–3 pages)
- The personal statement provides a sample of your writing. It should tell readers about you as an applicant and address important factors in your life journey that have shaped your professional interests and brought you to apply to the program.
- Obtain three letters of recommendation
- Items C and D can be uploaded directly to the electronic Graduate Admissions Application (item A). However, if you choose to submit a paper form of the Graduate Admissions Application, send items C and D, postmarked by January 1 for first consideration, to:

- Items C and D can be uploaded directly to the electronic Graduate Admissions Application (item A). However, if you choose to submit a paper form of the Graduate Admissions Application, send items C and D, postmarked by January 1 for first consideration, to:
- Participate in a personal interview with a faculty member
- Interviews will start on December 19th and be conducted on a rolling process until January 29th 2023.
- Interview with potential graduate assistant supervisor(s).
- These interviews will be conducted during Graduate Assistant Interview Weekend, February 24-26, 2022.
