VisCom Professor John Grimwade to receive 2018 Society for News Design Lifetime Achievement Award

VisCom Professor John Grimwade to receive 2018 Society for News Design Lifetime Achievement Award

ATHENS, Ohio (Feb. 23, 2018)–According to a Feb. 22 news release, Ohio University School of Visual Communication Assistant Professor John Grimwade has been honored as one of two winners for the 2018 Society for News Design (SND) Lifetime Achievement Award.  

A graduate of the Canterbury College of Art (Kent, England), Grimwade, a renowned expert in infographics, began his tenure as an assistant professor at Ohio University on July 15, 2015. Prior to coming to OHIO, he recently taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He has served as graphics director of The Times in London and later graphics director of Condé Nast publications in New York City. He has his own information graphics business (http://www.johngrimwade.com) and has produced infographics for more than 30 major magazines and several books.

Grimwade will receive the award in person at the 40th Anniversary Workshop and Awards Gala of the Society for News Design, March 22-24. The ceremony will be on Fri., March 23, starting at 5:30 p.m., at The New School in New York City.
