Internship Scholarships

Scripps students are encouraged to apply for scholarships that they can use toward a summer and fall internship. All Scripps College of Communication rising junior, junior and senior students are eligible.

• Don Perris Endowed Scholarship (Qualtrics form) - Each year multiple students are awarded $4,000 to be used towards their summer or fall internship. Students must work a minimum of 35 hours over a 10-week period during the summer or fall. This funding is available to rising juniors, juniors, seniors and graduating seniors. Students DO NOT need to have an internship secured to apply for funding; however, students should be actively applying to internships. The 2026 application period is Jan. 28 through 11:59 p.m. Feb. 19, 2026. 

  Don Perris Scholar Harlan Friedman-Romell, BSC '22 used the Don Perris Scholarship to help fund his OHIO-in-LA study away experience. He is now living and working in Los Angeles, Calif.
   

In addition, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships sends out a scholarship application November 1 of each year. Upperclassmen should complete and submit the application by February 1.
