Eastern Campus Biology Relocation Pathway

Program Overview

The Biology Relocation Pathway, offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, is available at all 5 Ohio University regional campuses. It offers a pathway through which students complete two years of very specific coursework before relocating to the Athens campus to complete the B.S. in Biological Sciences.

By completing the Biology Relocation Pathway at a regional campus, students receive support and advising from the perspective of the College of Arts and Sciences while working towards a degree in biological sciences.

Why Study Biological Sciences?

The B.S. in Biological Sciences is a flexible option for students who want to pursue a biological sciences graduate program or professional school, including physician assistant programs.

This degree program is also a great option for students who wish to specialize in medical laboratory science or medical technology, exercise physiology, neuroscience, or ecology and evolutionary biology.

Admission Requirements

Freshman/First-Year Admission

There are no additional admission requirements beyond University admission for first-year students.

Change of Program and External Transfer Admission

Students with 30 or more semester credits should speak with an advisor prior to selecting the Biology Relocation Pathway.

Curriculum

The Biology Relocation Pathway allows students to complete the first two years of coursework for the biological sciences degree. Students should work with their advisor to determine which courses can be completed to meet degree program requirements before relocating to the Athens campus.

Career Opportunities

Students who relocate to the Athens campus and complete a biological sciences program will be prepared for a variety of careers, such as, work in the state and federal government, higher education settings, the health industry, research laboratories, environmental organizations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nature centers, museums, etc.
