Welcome from the Dean
Welcome from Dr. Jeremy Webster, Ohio University Eastern Campus Interim Dean
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ohio University Eastern! Since 1957, the faculty and staff of the Eastern campus have been an integral part of the educational landscape of the Upper Ohio River Valley. Our alumni make a difference throughout the world, building on the skills, achievements, and values that grew out of their time here as a Bobcat.
On behalf of the Faculty, Staff, and Alumni of the Eastern campus, I invite you to explore the opportunities described on this website, to visit our beautiful campus, to talk to our friendly faculty and staff, and to consider joining our extensive Bobcat family.
Ohio University Eastern is your gateway to the expertise, talents, and resources of the entire Ohio University system. You can start and finish a two- or four-year degree on campus, online, or via the Ohio University Learning Network that allows students to attend live interactive classes taught by faculty from any of the eight Ohio University campuses and centers.
Whether you start here and stay here, or perhaps start somewhere else and complete your bachelor’s degree through our Bachelors of Science in Applied Management or Technical and Applied Studies, you will have access to the region’s most engaged and accomplished scholars to guide you and mentor your studies. More than 50% of our 2019 graduating class engaged in an internship or early field placement under the mentorship of one of our esteemed faculty.
Perhaps you seek a "career ready" degree like Middle Childhood Education, Exercise Physiology, or Social Work, or a “career flexible” degree, like History or Human Biology, that prepares you for a range of 21st-century careers. Or perhaps you have a unique and exciting vision of a program that doesn’t exist, one that combines multiple fields—then our Bachelors of Specialized Studies degree fits that bill.
Students at Ohio University Eastern are engaged beyond the classroom. For instance, our array of student clubs, athletic teams and organizations offer chances to develop leadership skills and to find a community of peers with common interests.
In short, great things are happening at the Eastern Campus! I hope that you will make an effort to visit us soon. Please stop by and say hello when you do. We look forward to seeing you.
