Community Education Workshop Series
Community Education workshops are open to the general public regardless of educational background. These classes are self-supporting, and the fees collected from Community Education cover all instructional, administrative, and overhead cost of the program.
All ages are welcome, unless noted.
Community Education workshops do not carry credit applicable toward an Ohio University degree or transferable to other institutions. Classes are scheduled year-round.

Refund Policy
Full refunds are given for cancellations made before the registration deadline of each workshop. Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not receive a refund, as materials have already been purchased and preparations made for the workshop.
If you are unable to attend, registration can be transferred to another attendee for the same workshop. Send new attendee’s information: name, email, & *date of birth to Ann Holmes.
Registrations cannot be transferred to another workshop.
If a workshop is canceled due to low enrollment, registrants will be notified in advance and full refunds will be issued.

Holiday Candlemaking

Emma Martin, owner and operator of B & E Candle Co. will be sharing her favorite holiday fragrances, some holiday candle inspiration, and teaching you to make your very own candles! We will pour two candles and roll holiday-colored beeswax candles.

With New Year's Eve right around the corner, it’s time to explore Champagne. This class will cover a variety of sparkling wines and champagne, discussing the difference in style and taste and featuring a flight of 4 sparkling wines. We will be making one champagne cocktail. Learn about sugar, its effects on the body, how it can contribute to, and feed disease, how addictive it is, and the sneaky way that manufacturers use sugar, and some of the common names to look for on food labels. Discover how sugar negatively impacts the liver, how important the liver is in overall functioning, why liver health is so important, and how to assist your liver to work optimally. During the last class, registrants will meet at Tea of Life Apothecary and make 2 tea blends: one focusing on sugar cravings, and the other a detox.

Class meets 2/3, 2/10, 2/17 & 2/24 and is held at the Place: Cavalier Athletic Center. Pickleball is a fun and growing sport that combines the elements of badminton, tennis, and ping-pong. It is played with paddles and wiffle balls and requires movements similar to tennis. The first half of class is instructional. We will cover the basics of gameplay, rules, scoring, skill development, and strategy. The second half of class will be open play to practice the skills discussed.
Paddles & wiffle balls will be supplied. Wear tennis shoes.
