Social Science Meta-Major

Chillicothe Campus Social Science Meta-Major

The Social Sciences Meta-Major, offered at all 5 Ohio University regional campuses, is a great option for students who know they are interested in a social science-related field but have not fully settled on a major. Students enrolled in this program can explore their interests through courses like sociology, psychology, political science, economics and anthropology to help narrow their options and select a major.

Most students choose a major within the first year of exploration, but students may earn up to 60 semester hours before selecting a major that they can complete on an OHIO regional campus or by relocating to the Athens campus. This pathway offers students the advising and support they need to ultimately declare a major in the social sciences that will meet their academic goals.
