Christina (Wright) Mehlon, MSA, MBA
Christina Mehlon, MSA, began working to develop a CTLA program in spring 2022 as a faculty fellow with the Office of the Vice President and Provost. Her support continued into 2022-23 as she led the development of a Peer Teaching Observation Program, from needs assessment to process and rubric development to a formal pilot to launch in spring 2023.
Mehlon supports interdisciplinary classroom observations to provide faculty with constructive, meaningful and actionable feedback to continually improve their teaching practices and skills to maximize student learning and impact.
As an instructional practitioner, Mehlon teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate sports business courses focused on facility and event management and diversity, equity and inclusion in sport, both in-person and online. She leads a variety of experiential learning opportunities working events in the sports and entertainment industry, as well as serves as the Director of the Festivals, Events and Entertainment Management (FEEM) interdisciplinary undergraduate certificate program. Christina is an established national voice in sport diversity and inclusion having led more than 150 webinars, workshops, conference sessions, executive trainings and coaching, as an invited speaker and facilitator.
Mehlon was a finalist for the Provost Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2021-22.
She earned her a master of sports administration (M.S.A.) and an M.B.A. from Ohio University and a B.A. in public communication from The American University.
