Alumni Networks COVID Protocol for In-Person Events

While some public health measures may have been relaxed, protocol and safety measures will continue to evolve and be evaluated. Current policies have been based on shifts in general guidance from the CDC and the state, paired with local public health data. It is important to note that regardless of geographical location, all Ohio University activities must adhere to university policies and operating procedures. This includes activities of the Ohio University Alumni Association’s Alumni Networks in Ohio, Florida, Texas, California and beyond.

As of 6/16/21, the current university guidelines are as follows:

Outdoors, we are no longer requiring face coverings or physical distancing, regardless of vaccination status. We do strongly encourage both precautions for unvaccinated individuals, as does the CDC.

Indoors, fully vaccinated people do not need to wear masks, except where otherwise required in health care or clinical environments, and on public transportation. Unvaccinated people are required to wear masks indoors, and we advise that they also do so outdoors if physical distancing of six feet cannot be maintained.

Fully vaccinated individuals also no longer have to maintain physical distance in non-classroom indoor public spaces on campus.  In all other indoor public spaces, unvaccinated individuals are required to maintain six feet of physical distance.

As the Alumni Network Representative, it is your responsibility to communicate and follow university policies at all in-person OUAA Sanctioned and Sponsored Events.

Should you have any questions, please contact alumniengagement@ohio.edu and we will be happy to assist you.

*Ohio University and the OUAA reserve the right to amend this policy at any time as CDC, local and state guidelines continue to evolve.
