What is Bobcat Buddies?

Bobcat Buddies pairs recent Ohio University graduates with incoming first-year students with the purpose of developing an informal and fun mentorship connection!   

Recent alumni - no one knows Ohio University and the Bobcat experience better than you, so we hope you take this opportunity to share your knowledge, experience, and passion for OHIO, and a few survival tips as well.  

New Bobcats - we hope you take this opportunity to make a special connection with someone who was just in your shoes and can provide a unique kind of support as you start your Forever OHIO journey! 

How it Works

Use the links below to let us know that you are interested in participating in the program. We will reach out to interested Recent Graduates in the Spring, 2025 to confirm their interest in the program and to complete a full (brief) application. Recent alumni participants will be required to attend one virtual training session prior to the August 2025 start of the program.

First year students can express their interest through April 2025 using the form below. At that time, the official application will open for first year students. 

The Bobcat Buddies program will run on the Bobcat Network platform from August 18 to December 12, 2025. 

First-year students (mentees) will be paired with recent graduates (mentors) for the length of the program. Throughout the program participants will be prompted to meet “milestones” with their buddy by discussing topics such as OHIO campus life, academic resources, extra-curricular activities, community engagement, and more. We will also share information about activities and events happening for both students and alumni.
