Southern Campus Graduation Recognition Ceremony

Each spring, Ohio University Southern celebrates summer, fall and spring graduates during the annual Graduation Recognition Ceremony. This ceremony is a separate event from the formal Spring Commencement Ceremonies held on the Athens campus.

The Graduation Recognition Ceremony features an address from a featured speaker and recognizes students who are named as outstanding graduates by faculty members. The event is open to family and friends of Southern Campus graduates.

Date: Thursday, April 30, 2026
Registration/Check-In: 6 p.m.
Ceremony Begins: 7:00 p.m.

Students who plan to participate in the upcoming Graduation Recognition Ceremony need to complete the registration form by Friday, April 10, 2026.

All graduates will have the opportunity to have guests attend the ceremony.  If you or your guest(s) require accommodations, please provide this information when you complete the registration form.

Reservations

Cap & Gown Package Orders

Regalia is required to participate in the ceremonies. You may not participate in graduation ceremonies without Ohio University issued regalia. No regalia sales will occur at the ceremony venue.

Any graduating student may purchase regalia, regardless of their ceremony participation. Student regalia will be mailed to student’s home address, no regalia will be available for pick-up at the campus.

Order by April 3, 2026

Note: Be sure to purchase your regalia before the order deadline to get your regalia to ensure on-time delivery. Shipping delays have been experienced and are common.

Honor Cords

Academic honor cords are given to baccalaureate degree candidates receiving honors for Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude.  Honor cords are based on academic information from the Registrar's Office and will be provided at check-in to those graduating with honors.

Photography

Your guests may take photos during the ceremony, but we ask that they remain seated during the ceremony so as not to disturb other guests who are trying to see their graduate.

A selfie station will be available to get a special shot with honored graduates.

There will be many opportunities to capture a popular family photo or selfie around the OHIO Southern campus.
