Women's Programming
Ohio University Lancaster, we support the advancement of women through a number of programs and partnerships to support life-long learning opportunities. Over the past six years, there have been sporadic opportunities for students and community members to earn non-credit certificates and Continuing Education Credits at Ohio University Lancaster. These opportunities for lifelong or continuing learning, resume-building, and certification requirements have been focused on certifications offered by organizations like Regional Medical Center continuing education for nurses, ADAMH continuing education for social workers, the state Ohio Crime Victims Agency, NARCAN programs, and SAFE ZONE trainings. These opportunities were offered free of charge to the participants and have contributed to workforce development in Fairfield County and surrounding communities.

Loans
Upon completion of the FAFSA, most OHIO Lancaster students also qualify for Federal Student Loans. Though parental information may be considered to determine how much a student may receive, these loans are in the student’s name and not in the parent’s name. There are two main types of Federal Student Loans that students may receive.
- The subsidized loan is available to students who qualify financially. For this loan, the federal government pays the interest on the loan while the student is in school at least half-time (six hours).
- The unsubsidized loan is available to students regardless of financial need. For this loan the interest begins accruing from the time the loan is disbursed. While you may allow your interest to accumulate until repayment begins, it is recommended that students make regular interest payments, if possible.
For both of these loans, repayment begins six months after the student graduates or stops attending school.
