Counseling Services

A licensed counselor is available on campus two days a week for students who may be experiencing difficulties with stress, family, school, or other mental health issues. The focus of the service is brief individual counseling with students, mental health consultation, and education. These services are confidential and free to students.

Remote Sessions by appointment available via Zoom.

Students may schedule an appointment through the Student Services Office to speak with the counselor, based on availability.  If more extensive services are needed, the counselor will help the student to locate community resources, including New Horizons Mental Health Services, which provides a limited number of sessions free of charge to Ohio University Lancaster students who are referred.

Annie Brown, LPCC (ab342209@ohio.edu) will be available Monday from 9:00AM-1:00PM and Thursday from 2:00PM-6:00PM.

Focus of the service is brief individual counseling with students, mental health consultation and education. Students may schedule an appointment or drop in and talk, based on availability. Faculty and staff may also drop in for mental health information and consult. If a student needs immediate assistance, he or she may speak with counselor only when on campus. Counselor will not be available for crisis, emergency, or individual counseling outside of regularly-scheduled days on campus.
