Counseling Services
A licensed counselor is available on campus two days a week for students who may be experiencing difficulties with stress, family, school, or other mental health issues. The focus of the service is brief individual counseling with students, mental health consultation, and education. These services are confidential and free to students.
In-Person and Remote Sessions by appointment via Zoom are available
Students may schedule an appointment through the Student Services Office to speak with the counselor, based on availability. If more extensive services are needed, the counselor will help the student to locate community resources, including New Horizons Mental Health Services, which provides a limited number of sessions free of charge to Ohio University Lancaster students who are referred.

Are you concerned about a student?
The CARE TEAM provides a systematic and professional response in instances where students’ behavior is concerning or disruptive to themselves, others or the community. The CARE TEAM does not provide mental health services, but we do provide faculty, staff, and students with resources and referrals.
