International Student Emergency Relief Fund

A collaboration between Ohio University, members of the Athens, Ohio community, and the International Student Task Force, has created an International Student Emergency Relief Fund.

This fund was established by a generous emergency grant from the Athens County Foundation and with the support of over 200 donors to date. If you would like to make a donation, please click on the following link.

The International Student Emergency Relief Fund will be used to respond to immediate needs for international students in Athens, Ohio. The funds will support COVID-19 impacts  including, but not limited to, rent, food, and utilities.

ISFS has created an application that is now available for international students currently in Athens to apply for support.

Please know that the relief fund has limited monies. In addition, you may be requested to submit proof of rent need including correspondence with your landlord should you be requesting funding to support late rent. Or you may be requested to provide proof of other expenses. The committee will do their best to provide funding where it is most needed.

Finally, in making award decisions, the committee may consider previous sources of funding including the June/July emergency funding, payroll, financial aid or other university sources.
