Canvas Transition
Canvas was chosen as OHIO's Learning Management System (LMS) after an exhaustive evaluation process that incorporated feedback from students, faculty, and staff across all OHIO's campuses. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is leading the Canvas Learning Management System Implementation, while the Office of Instructional Design (OID) has developed documentation, workshops, and consultations to facilitate the transition from Blackboard to Canvas and help faculty utilize Canvas effectively to achieve teaching and learning objectives.

OID Canvas WorkshopsOID is offering bi-weekly workshops to support faculty through the Canvas transition and ensure effective use of Canvas.

OID Canvas SupportOID is offering scheduled consultations and in person/virtual office hours for faculty to engage with an Instructional Designer for assistance in teaching with Canvas.

Canvas 24/7 SupportSupport will be available to students, faculty, and staff within Canvas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To review training and support options, log into Canvas and select "Help" from the left-side menu. Users can receive assistance via chat, phone, or email, according to their preferences. OIT is closely collaborating with Canvas to ensure that customers are directed to the appropriate resources for OHIO-specific questions. When in doubt, start with Canvas support, as they are available at all times and have information about the resources supported by OIT.
