Grand Cayman Island: Fashion Photography and Videography

Spend your winter break exploring the stunning Caribbean island of Grand Cayman while gaining valuable, hands-on experience in fashion photography and videography! During the program, students will earn 3 OHIO credit hours and will have the unique opportunity to work with an Ohio University alum who works on the Island as a professional photographer. Students will scout locations, network with local professionals, prepare for photo and video shoots, shoot stills and video, and work through the post production process.

December 26, 2019 - January 6, 2020

Program dates are tentative and may be slightly adjusted due to airfare.

Eligibility and selection process

This program is open to all Ohio University students with a minimum GPA of 2.0 who are in good judicial standing . 

Students who will be on probation at any point during the program for a conduct offense that took place less than a calendar year from the program start date may not study abroad.  Click here to read the entire conduct policy.

In preparation for the program: 

Fall 2019

VICO 4900 Special Topics in Visual Communication Field Work Preparation (1 cr).  

Course to be taken over winter break*:

VICO 3922 Synthesis Commercial Production for Visual Communication (3 cr)

*This course will count towards your total Spring Credit Hours.

Entry and Exit Requirements

U.S. citizens are required to have a valid U.S. passport when traveling outside of the United States. If you plan to study or travel abroad in the next year,  apply for your passport  now. 

Some countries also require a visa to legally enter or reside in the country. Entry and exit requirements for the Cayman Islands can be found  here.

U.S. citizens   will not   need a visa or other special document to enter the country for the length of this program. Please also note that visa requirements may vary if you plan to stay in the country longer than the program dates or travel to other countries during or after the program. Please familiarize yourself with these recommendations and requirements prior to applying to this program.
