Founders Day 2021

Happy 217th Birthday, OHIO!

Founded on Feb. 18, 1804, Ohio University is proud of its rich history of educating students from across the state and around the word. While we celebrate the birthday of the institution each year on Founders Day, we also celebrate the achievements of our many students and alumni.
Happy Founders Day to Bobcats everywhere!

Founders Day T-shirt Swap and Celebration

Celebrate 217 years of OHIO with a new Forever OHIO T-shirt and a yummy Founders Day cupcake. While supplies last, bring any other college or brand T-shirt to the tables set up in front of Baker Center and trade for a new Forever Ohio T-shirt. While you're there, satisfy your sweet tooth with a free Founders Day cupcake, and get a head start on completing your Bobcat Bucket List to win cool prizes throughout the semester! All T-shirts collected will be donated to the Salvation Army of Athens.

    Cutler Hall Bells Chime

Keeping with tradition and in honor of OHIO's historic milestone, the Cutler Hall chimes will play “Alma Mater, Ohio” at 12:17 p.m. Cutler Hall is the oldest building at Ohio University and currently serves as home to the Office of the President, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, and other senior administrative staff.
